The Stills - Logic Will Break Your Heart (2003)

When I saw The Stills open for The Strokes in 2003, I didn't really think much of them. However going back and listening to their debut Logic Will Break Your Heart makes me realize that they were much more than just an Interpol knockoff. With opening track Lola Stars and Stripes, you realize that there's something there to this band. They suffered on their sophmore effort, but don't let that hinder you enjoying this album.

She & Him - Volume 1 (2008)

When I first heard that Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward were releasing an album, I didn't quite know how to react. Sure Zooey's voice in Elf was amazing, but could she actually turn it into a solid album with one of the more consistent acts to come out of the indie rock underground?

I couldn't have been more happily surprised then when I first heard this album. With 60s influences all over this album, Zooey does a great job of using her voice as an instrument that accompanies M. Ward's arrangements. This album is excellent, and here's to hoping that they continue with a Volume 2.

Sondre Lerche - Phantom Punch (2007)

Sondre Lerche is one of the most underrated and unknown artists in the United States. On his followup to the 2006 jazz album Duper Sessions, Lerche follows up with his most rock filled album to date. Although Phantom Punch is edgier than his older albums, Lerche still manages to use his fine craftsmanship to create smart intelligent music.

Nicole Atkins - Neptune City (2007)

When I went to see The Pipettes last November, I never thought I would have been blown away by the opener. Nicole Atkins takes on many influences, yet she manages to have a unique style of her own.

Whether it be with upbeat songs like Party's Over, or moving ballads like Neptune City, Nicole Atkins' presence is felt throughout the entire album. This album comes with my highest recommendations, and I feel that it won't disappoint.

Jamie Lidell - Multiply (2005)

What better first album to post on here than the one that gave this blog its name. Jamie Lidell makes an awesome hybrid of electronic and soul that will put a positive spin on your day. With standout tracks like Multiply and Music Will Not Last, Jamie Lidell proves that mixing two unlikely genres together can work!

Welcome to the Blog!

Well I finally got around to making one of these music blogs. I can't exactly say when i'll get music up here, but it should be before this weekend's over. I hope you enjoy my uploads, and remember one thing. If you enjoy what you hear here go support the bands. Whether it is by purchasing their albums, going to see them live, or buying t-shirts we need to support the bands that give us this music!
